Rooted in tradition.
Alive in Los Angeles.
The Mafé Ensemble is an artist collective blending traditional West African rhythms with a fresh West Coast vibe. Born in the historic Leimert Park neighborhood, the group creates a living dialogue between ancient traditions and the vibrant, ever evolving sounds of LA.
Their music is a diasporic fusion, grounded in deep cultural roots, alive with contemporary energy, and built for connection. Every performance carries an electric spirit of community and joy, whether on a festival stage or in a neighborhood classroom.
The ensemble's credits speak to both their artistry and reach. Opening the LA City Council Juneteenth Celebration to the 2026 Oscars, where founding members joined the acclaimed "I Lied to You" performance from the film Sinners.
